Benedict Cumberbatch doesn’t need magic to stop crime
Apparently you do not need the Eye of Agamotto to stop a group of villains. Benedict Cumberbatch, leading man of Marvel’s Dr. Strange, and key player in the studios latest ensemble film Avengers: Infinity War, has proven just that that.
One twitter user (@thatbenedictfan) reacts to and sums up the incident well, “Can you imagine you’re away on your bicycle to deliver a Chinese takeaway to someone and four boyos attack you and hit you with a bottle and then you hear someone yell LEAVE HIM ALONE and you look up and Benedict Cumberbatch has come to your rescue?”
Reports say the Sorcerer Supreme was in a taxi with his wife when they viewed a food delivery rider being attacked by a group of four persons, Cumberbatch then sprinted towards them shouting, “leave him alone”
Manuel Dias, the taxi driver driving Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter, recalled the events of June 1st for The Sun in an interview.
“Benedict was courageous, brave and selfless,” Dias said. “If he hadn’t stepped in, the cyclist could have been seriously injured. Here was Sherlock Holmes fighting off four attackers just round the corner from Baker Street. He stood there instructing them in the street, shouting, ‘Leave him alone’.”
The report also details that the resident Marvel Studios wizard had managed to chase the assailants off of the victim while evading getting struck himself. The real life superheroes involvement in the skirmish has now been reflected to be the main reason the driver has avoided serious injuries.
When asked why he jumped in by The Sun, Cumberbatch said: “I did it out of, well, I had to, you know.”
Who knew you could be such a badass on the big screen AND in real life? What do you think about the heroics of our favorite Marvel magic maker?
