Cyborg Cast In ‘Doom Patrol’ Series
Variety reports that actor Jovian Wade has been cast in the upcoming “Doom Patrol” TV series on the upcoming DC Universe streaming site.
The “Doom Patrol” series will spin out of the “Titans” series, also on the upcoming DC Universe app. You can find the trailer for “Titans” here, previously reported on this site.
Cyborg was traditionally associated with the Teen Titans for years. In 2011, DC Comics rebooted their comic book universe with “the New 52” and established that Cyborg was one of the founding members of the Justice League. It has since been retconned again to say that Cyborg was, in fact, part of the Teen Titans at some time in his past.
The 2017 Justice League movie featured Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher, teaming up with Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Superman to fight the villain Steppenwolf.
It is interesting to see them shuffle around characters again and put Cyborg on the Doom Patrol team. They may need a slightly more recognizable character to get people to tune into this semi-obscure team.
It will be fun to see how both of these shows turn out. What show are you most excited about? Will you be subscribing to the DC Universe streaming site?
