Glass Reviews: A Abysmal, Dull, and lifeless conclusion to ‘Unbreakable’ & ‘Split’
With the Glass release date approaching soon. Many M. Night fans have been getting excited for the follow up film. Glass is the third film installment of the Unbreakable universe and is the sequel to Split. Split received favorable reviews for the most part. Although Unbreakable was divisive during it’s release back in 2000. Unbreakable has gained more respect from critics and audiences alike over the past decade. When the first trailer for Glass dropped back at San Diego Comic Con, many fans started to believe M. Night was making a comeback. Myself included. But unfortunately the reactions/reviews were released on Wednesday. And SPOILER ALERT, they were poor.
The film was panned by critics with some saying it’s M. Night Shyamalan biggest disappointment. On Rotten Tomatoes the film currently holds a 36% on the tomatometer with the consensus reading: Glass displays a few glimmers of M. Night Shyamalan at his twisty world-building best, but ultimately disappoints as the conclusion to the writer-director’s long-gestating trilogy. Although it didn’t receive many positive reviews they were some positive reviews from some critics. On Metacritic the average score is a 45%. With only one positive, one negative, and sixteen mixed reviews. Other critics who saw the movie left their reactions/reviews on twitter which I will share below.
Although this is disappointing to hear. I will remind you to always see a movie you want regardless of what anyone else says. Check out the trailer for Glass below and read some of the critic reviews from twitter!
