Incredibles 2 – Five things you need to know
14 years after the Incredibles, brad bird is coming back with the sequel of the best fantastic 4 movie we ever got.
The movie is set to be released next week,June 15th so here are a few things you might need to know before rushing in the theaters to see the anticipated pixar movie.
THE VILLAIN OF THE SEQUEL
The villain is called screenslaver. His name is actually a play on the word Screensaver. The super villain uses TV screens to hypnotize people from a distance. By the sound of his name it is clear that the sequel will not in any ways shy away from the superhero cliches that made the first one so INCREDIBLE (See what I did there?)
It may have been 14 years for us but not for our heroes as the sequel picks up right after the 1st one… I mean, literally, the first scene of the sequel is where the 1st one ends, and we are supposed to see what happens right after the underminer shows up so if you don not remember what happened 14 years ago, I would advise you to revisit the incredibles before seeing the sequel.
NEW CHARACTERS AND PLOT.
Incredibles 2, as teased in the trailers will follow elastic girl (Holy Hunter) as she gets recruited by a firm trying to make superheroes popular again, While Bob (Craig T. Nelson) watches the kids. The person recruiting Elastic girl is Winston Deavor played by Bob Odenkirk, his character runs a firm with his sister evelyn deavor (Catherine Keener), while Winston is described as the guy who runs the telecomunication company that he and his sister own, he is also described as a superhero fan, who is dedicated to bring the supers back in the spotlight. his sister, however, is described as a Tech wizard, the brain of the company.
Then we have voyd, played by Sophia bush. Her character is a superhero who is a massive elastic girl fan and wants to be just like her. She already has powers, including the ability to create voids that allow objects to shift in space, disappear, and reappear. Another addition is Isabella Rossellini as The Ambassador who supports the legalization of superheroes, which indicates that the movie could also include some political metaphor.
NOT ALL THE ORIGINAL CAST MEMBERS ARE RETURNING
Most of the original cast is returning, Craig T Nelson as Mr incredible, Holy hunter as Elastic girl, Samuel L Jackson as Frozone, Brad bird as Edna, Sarah Vowell as Violet except for Dash. while Sarah vowell can still make herself sound like a teenage little girl, it was an impossible task for Spencer fox whose voice changed significantly and had to be replaced by Huck Miller, which sounds like a good choice since the fans do not seem to have notice the difference yet.
WHY THE SEQUEL TOOK THIS LONG TO MAKE
Talking with Comicbook.com, director brad bird had this to say about why the sequel took so long to make “Yeah, well and you know the thing is that many sequels are cash grabs,And there’s a saying in the business that I can’t stand where they go, ‘You don’t make another one, you’re leaving money on the table.’ Jesus, you know, money on the table is not what makes me get up in the morning. Making something that people are going to enjoy 100 years from now is what gets me up. So if it were a cash grab, we would not have taken 14 years. It makes no financial sense to wait this long. It’s sheerly [because] we had a story that we wanted to tell.” So it seems pretty clear that Brad bird had was in no rush to make a sequel, even though 14 years seem long, the quality of the final product is what matters the most.
