Petition To Change Batman Province Border

Turkish citizen Kemal Atakan Kirca has organized a Change.org support campaign to reshape the borders of one of the country’s province’s with the name Batman. It’s not the first time the province has tried to capitalize on its’ famous superhero name. In 2008, they tried to claim royalty rights to the movie franchise but were unsuccessful.

The petition is already up to over 13,000 signatures in just 24 hours. It always amazes me the things you stumble upon on the internet. I find this to be quite amusing. Some of the comments even suggested the idea of switching the capital of the province to Gotham. Which ironically is actually the lowest crime in Turkey. The proposed border outline can be found below.
